Music Monday!

So for this Monday's post, I'm just gonna shuffle through my iPod and see what jumps out at me. :)

Listen while reading!

1)I Believe in a Thing Called Love by The Darkness OK, this song is just plain FUN. I love singing really loud to this one.

2)Black Roses Red by Alana Grace This song was in the first "Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants". Her voice is perfect for this type of song.

3)Rest in Pieces by Saliva Salive, normally a hard rock band, came out with this haunting ballad a few years ago. The whole song is about how a girl broke his heart and the hook is "Could you find it in your heart to make this go away, and Let me rest in pieces.

4)Sleep Don't Weep by Damien Rice How can you not love Damien Rice?

5)I Just Don't Know What to Do by The White Stripes Jack White is so weird. So very weird. But I love his sound.

6)Pitter-Pat by Erin McCarley Love her. This is a song to suit any mood. "Pain takes my heart's place, the Love we made we can't erase it...don't wanna face it"

7)Change is Hard by She and Him This is a band with Zooey Deschanel and M. Ward. LOVE THEM. Her voice is so strange (just like her personality...and I love them both). This song is basically about how she did a guy wrong and he's moved on to someone else, but she doesn't want to know about them because she's still in love with him. "I'm all outta luck, but what else could I be? I know he's yours and he'll never belong to me again."

8)Quequ'un M'a Dit by Carla Bruni I have no idea what this is song says or is about. It's just pretty.

9)They by Jem GREAT base line to this song. It was on Grey's Anatomy in the first season and I have loved it every since. I love this lyrics "Who made up all the rules? We follow them like fools. Believe them to be true. Don't care to think them through."

10)Leaving on a JetPlane by Chantal Kreviazuk My favorite version of this song.

11)They Bring Me to You by Joshua Radin One of the absolute sweetest songs I have ever heard. And his voice is beautiful. I haven't heard a song by Josh that I didn't like.

12)Memory (Acoustic) by Sugarcult Can I be your memory?

13)Sunset Lover by Josh Kelley This song just happy and sweet. Josh Kelley is from Georgia and went to Ole Miss, didja know? I love his voice.

14)My Same by Adele Love her voice. This girl can BELT IT. And she has amazing song writing skills.

15)Not Big by Lily Allen I really don't like her, but I like this song. She's broken up with her boyfriend and basically tells him that she never "had much fun" with him because he's "small in the game".

My Best Friend

There are few people in this world as lucky as me. I have a friend who, though I've known for almost 12 years, has been my very best friend for 3.

Me and my Amanda Pie

She's stood by me through thick and thin. We disagree constantly, on food, clothes, shoes, life...but we also share the very same views on most things. It's weird. :) She is truly my sister. Not by blood, but by bond. Love her.

So, like any typical girl, I have been coming up with my "future kid's" names for quite a few years now. And recently, I decided to actually start documenting them seeing as how (hopefully) I'll start having some little ones to name in the next few (five) years. I am now going to share this incomplete and ongoing list with you.

Music Monday... oh, wait it's Tuesday....

So I'm a little behind this week, but I've been wanting to do a Music Monday for a while, so here's goes. I also made a playlist on Grooveshark so anyone could go listen to these songs. The link for that is here. There's also a widget at the bottom of this blog if you just want to listen and read at the same time. :)

1)One Moment More (acoustic) by Mindy Smith. LOVE HER. And this song. I recently found out it was written about her mother, but it's just one of those songs that will touch you no matter who you're thinking of when you listen to it.

2)Girl Named Tennessee by Needtobreathe. This is a band I was recently introduced to by one of my good friends who told me "When I heard this song, I thought Megan would love this". Guess what? I totally do. They're actually a Christian Alternative Rock band. This song is just so cool and bluesy, you can't help but like it.

3)Near to You by A Fine Frenzy. Ohmygosh. This song makes me cry every single time I listen to it. The lyrics are so strong and it hits you right in the heart. It's beautiful, though.

4)World Spins Madly On by The Weepies. Something about this song just makes me happy.

5)Paperthin Hymn by Anberlin. I like this song so much I got some of the lyrics tattooed on my foot! LOOK! My favorite lyric is laugh, love, live free, and sing. when life is in discord, praise ye lord.

6)Find Me by Boyce Avenue. A few years ago, I accidently discovered this band on MySpace and quickly fell in love. They're brothers and from Florida. They're music is really catchy and the lead singer's voice is amazing.

7)Long Way by Daughtry. This is a bonus track on his newest cd and I was immediately attracted to it. I love the pulsing base line and his voice is perfect for this type of song.

8)Under the Sheets by Ellie Goulding. One of the artists I follow on Twitter (my account is here.) is obsessed with Ellie Goulding so, of course, I had to check her out. This song is just a fun one to listen and dance around to.

9)Whisper by Ernie Halter. Beautiful lyrics, beautiful voice. 'Nuff said.

10)The Walk by Imogen Heap. My FAVORITE song by one of my FAVORITE artists. It's just so fun.

11)Sort of by Ingrid Michaelson. Anybody else want her and Joshua Radin to get together and create a wonder indie music child?

12)Half of My Heart by John Mayer. I gotta say, I don't really like him. But I love his music. And as soon as I heard his newest album, this became my fav. His voice is smooth like butta.

13)Can't Take My Eyes Off You by Lady Antebellum. One of my favorite Lady A songs. I'm so drawn to the simple, yet honest, lyrics. Her voice is so pretty.

14)5:19 by Matt Wertz. My good friend Rachel (her blog) told me about him. Love this song. My favorite lyric from this song is if i could talk to you, i'd want you to know, i'm holding loose, but ain't letting go)

15)Rain by Patty Griffin. By far, my favorite song of hers. It's so simple and alluring. LOVE LOVE LOVE it.

slowly but surely...

I am officially almost finished with my preceptorship. I didn't think I could love Labor and Delivery anymore than I already did... but I DO. I love it so. I just know that God himself created me to do this. With every birth I witness or assist, I fall more and more in love. My preceptor, Carly, is wonderful. Intense, but very wonderful. I have learned so much. The girls there are fantabulous, and I could see myself fitting in very quickly. If only I would actually get a job at Tupelo.

In other news...
There isn't much else. All I've been doing lately is sleeping, watching LOST, and going to help with birthing some babies. And that, ladies and gents, is how I would like to spend the rest of my life (change out LOST with various other tv shows or books).

So as I wrap this up, let me explain to you what is happening RIGHT NOW. I am currently finishing up a bowl of popcorn, mainly because it was the quickest sustenance I could provide myself. It is 9 in the morning and I have been awake since about 4 yesterday afternoon. I am going to watch some more LOST until I fall asleep, and I'll probably wake up around 5 or 6. What a lovely (backwards) day.

PS You have never experienced a hard sleep until you have worked a 12 hr shift and come home to sleep. It's AMAZING.

National Texting Championship?!?

LG US National Texting Championship

What the HELL? There is actually a national competition out there that involves TEXTING. I can't decide if I'm appalled or intrigued. It's so strange to think that we live in a world where people are praised for their ability to text quickly, or while doing other things. WHO CAME UP WITH THIS IDEA? And how the HELL did it get so popular that it's actually broadcasted on TELEVISION? (Sorry for all the CAPS but I feel they're needed) Oh, and one of the top competitors is a 13 year old girl. Go freakin' figure.

I'm at the edge of my emotions....

You by the light
Is the greatest find
In a world
Full of wrong
Your the thing thats right
Finally made it
Through the lonely
To the other side

You set it again
My hearts in motion
Every word feels
Like a shooting star
Im at the edge of my emotions
Watching the shadows
Burning in the dark
And Im in love
And Im terrifed
For the first time
And the last time
In my only life
Life

This could be good
Its already better than that
And nothings worse
Than knowing your holding back
I could be all that you need
If you let me try

You set it again
My hearts in motion
Every word feels
Like a shooting star
Im at the edge of my emotions
Watching the shadows
Burning in the dark
And Im in love
And Im terrified
For the first time
And the last time
In my only life

I only said it 'cause I mean it
Oh I only mean it
'Couse its true
So dont you tear
What I've been dreaming
'Couse it keeps me up
And holds me close
Whenever Im without you

You set it again
My hearts in motions
Every word feels
Like a shooting star
Im at the edge of my emotions
Watching the shadows
Burning in the dark
And Im in love
And Im terrified
For the first time
And the last time
In my only life
Life, life
In my only life

Very Important to Me

It's not music today! LOL But, I am speaking about something that's very important to me-- Organ Donation. I have always been an advocate for Organ Donation due to the fact that my mother raised us to believe in it's power and the good that can come of it. I recently enrolled (which you can do online) at http://www.organdonor.gov. It's very easy! All you have to do is put in your name and Driver's License # and you're enrolled. There is also a card to print out and sign stating that you are a donor. It's here... ftp://ftp.hrsa.gov/organdonor/newdonorcard.pdf. Please, Please, I urge you to think about it. There is so much information on that website about exactly who can donote, etc. Just think, it could be your friend or family member that needs a kidney/heart/etc. and if no one donated, they would DIE. Just go to the site and read up on it. You just might change your mind.
